I love being a therapist. Why? Because life is hard, and everyone should have a space to talk about it. It is not easy to open up to those closest to us in our lives, let alone a complete stranger. I strive to provide a comfortable, laid back space for you to quickly forget I am a stranger. Therapy can be scary, exciting, anxiety producing and also bring a much needed sense of relief. All of these emotions (and so many more!) are more than welcome in my therapy room.
The study of marriage and family therapy trained me to think systemically, meaning I look at each person I work with as part of a greater system. The various groups we are members of in life, whether it be our family, friend group, career group, etc., all affect our day-to-day moods and functioning. I think it is important to look at everyone’s lives as a whole in order to do the most complete work possible. It is through this work that I see the most success and improvement in therapy.
I live and work in the Lake Norman area. I grew up here and am excited to settle my therapy roots in a familiar place that I love. When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m usually chasing after my two kids or trying to relax with my husband, which often includes planning our next big travel adventure.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I attended an accredited Master’s program at Pfeiffer University. I received my undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Sociology and a minor in Pre-Law from Pfeiffer University as well.
